Anyone who reads this knows I’m a great big nerd. Anyone who doesn’t, this oughta cement it:

Still fresh. Hell, as I write this, it’s still wrapped. I’m very happy with this. I can easily recommend Zulu Tattoo in L.A. Nice group of people, and of course Misha, my artist, is just a great person.

Let’s flesh out some of these drawings with a muscle study. (Get it?)
I should probably scan some of this stuff instead of taking a photo with my phone, but it’s much easier this way. Also, while my posting history here looks like we’re building up to live models, we’ve actually been drawing people since Day One. We finally started with nudes last week, I just haven’t done anything I feel like sharing there yet. Soon, I think.

Or whichever holidays you enjoy. I’m celebrating this one, so it’s what you all get a little drawing for.

My soapstone carving was due today. This is it as of yesterday. I’ve since put a bit more wax on it, so it’s a little shinier, but this is pretty much it:

You may notice it looks slightly different from the previous photo. Yesterday, the instructor observed that it looked better the other way around. He’s right, it does. It’s already non-representational, so hey, why not?
